PostSubject: Drift Course Designs For 2009   Sun Jan 11, 2009 4:59 pm

I've been plotting a few designs down on paper the past little bit, and will be posting them up soon.

Concerning locations, I know RMR's parking lot was one of the locations discussed, and some location at Miller was also mentioned, as well as Wendover Airfield.

-RMR is self-explanatory, we've got a big triangle to work with.
-What area[s] of Miller are we potentially using? I've got a couple designs for the East Tarmac Lot, but I was unsure if there would be any possibility of the North Paddock / Parking area so I could plot some designs there as well.
-Wendover Airfield ... what area[s] are we working with there? There's enough space to do damned near anything, and I'm unsure of any space restrictions or off-limits areas to avoid, any input with that would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

For those that want to try out some designs, I uploaded Google Earth views of the locations. Download them, run them through Paint [I'm using Photoshop] and post up your ideas.

Flat flat and flat I like these lots, No humps no bumps less imperfections in the pavement the better. I don't like rmr oval ,never looked smooth. I would have bottomed the @#$% out of my car, why i never raced there. Im sure some of you agree.

FYI, Wendover airport won't let us go any farther west than that dark U-shape in the pavement. The airport is still in use clown

Make sure to get a good cooling system before you try this track cheers

it will be a fast course. top of 3rd entry. down to top of second if not 3rd the rest of the way. you could just end it before the loop at the end. but I think it would be neat.

it would make it so you would need to do some breaking after the first main turn. helping your car control increase.

Well, 3rd gear is scary. if there's curbs.

While I totally agree that the tracks should be faster, you also have to keep the noobs in mind. I only know a few people who dare 3rd gear entries. affraid

Then again, if anybody is to even have any sort of chance of being noticed by that D1 thing, 2nd gear drifting is not going get that attention.

You dont have to do 3rd gear. you can just top out 2nd until you hit the turn. We were all doing 3rd on thier track. its not that bad.

just because an elephant has the biggest brain doesnt mean he is the smartest.
meaning just because its possible to do a higher speed doesnt mean you need to do it.

The course is totally going to suck if we have 18 turns. your car will overheat after 6 turns. your tires will last 4 runs if youre lucky.
and the wait to drive is going to increase. every course i have posted can be done in 2nd or 3rd. shit you could probably hit 4th.

Thats my opinion on this anyway

best one yet

Sounds good, we look forward to seeing your car. You should post it up in the Drift Machine section.

Following the course isn't choku dori.

I want the option to hit that sh*t in 3rd gear. I did it last time late in the day and it worked well.
